In my next appointment, I’m taking my husband with me as a support person. Not to pressure my doctor but so they hear another voice of reason from someone who sees my health struggles and doesn’t just hear them.
Having that support person beside you is a great move Safeera. I also find that my wife picks up on different comments and a different perspective after unpacking a consult later. As Patti said in our session and I said in my book, “being a Titan with a chronic condition is a team sport”.

That is why I created a short, (~90 minutes) powerful course to teach patients (medically trained or not) how to prepare, problem solve, and present themselves in such a way to evoke compassionate collaboration. We, as patients, must become part of the solution to influence changes in health care, world wide.
