The Pressure Is Off
Have you ever returned from vacation and found your blood pressure in great shape?
That’s exactly what happened to me since our return on the 4th of May, so I did a little research to find out why.
It turns out holidays are good for your health. In one study by G. Neumayr et al.they found the degree of regeneration varies depending on the level of activity and in general found BP is significantly lower immediately after.
In another study by Hideyuki Negoro et al. on “workcations” versus sitting in the office found Arterial stiffness, blood pressure, and heart rate significantly decreased.
Before our Himalayan sojourn my BP was consistently 98/143 or there abouts. I expected it to stay up while on holidays simply because of the altitude. Now that I’m back down to sea level and reality it’s incredible and continues to stay that way day after day which is why I’m slowly ramping back up to see if I can retain my heart health gains from the trip.
The impact has been so significant that it has forced me to rethink how I go about adding value to you and other Titans without jeopardising my own health.
The answer lies in the formula for life.
The Titans Pulse
Some weeks, the label on the box matters less than what’s inside. But then there are moments when the name we give things changes how we live them.
This is one of those moments for our publication.
We’ve spent the last eighteen months talking about “decoding” a diagnosis and breaking the secret code of a condition. It’s vital work. But eventually, you stop decoding and start living. I’ve returned from a month in India on a spiritual sabbatical writing book two and I’ve found an even more holistic way to approach chronic illness and I’d like to share it with you.
In this week’s Cipherline, we are driving a paradigm shift and changing our focus from the problem to the solution. From here on we are moving from the diagnosis itself, to the formula for life, so you can move along the pathway that starts at diagnosis, transitions to alignment and ultimately requires reinvention in order to thrive.
Sessions From The Edge
Over the next month and a half I’m sharing some special Sessions From The Edge recordings made in the foothills of the Himalayas during our month long spiritual sabbatical. You’ve got some real interesting discussions in store, ranging from:
Finding the answer to life in Yoga
The spirituality of Yoga past the physical poses (Asanas)
Chronic illness and the benefits of community
Yoga Prana Vidya energy healing
Numerology Indian style
This week’s interview, scheduled for release on Friday, is the incredible story of Vidhya Dan, one of the Yoga teachers we were privileged to spend time with at the Satkhol Ashram. She was part of the reason for repivoting from decoding to deriving a formula because I’m meeting a lot of SFE guests who have found the answer to chronic illness by redefining life.
Vidhya tells us how she overcame severe epilepsy in her early years, unable to enter a medicine degree due to fits disrupting her entrance exam. Through adversity she redefined her life and in the process cured her Epilepsy by becoming a yoga instructor at the Heartfulness Institute. A truly inspiring story so keep your eyes open for that one.
From Decoding to Navigating
For a long time, the center of our world was the “Diagnosis.” It’s in the name of the book, the and the core of the framework. And for good reason, when you are hit with a chronic condition, it becomes your entire identity. You are a “cancer patient” or a “heart patient.” You spend your energy changing your perspective trying to crack the code of why this happened and what the medical jargon really means.
But “Decode Your Diagnosis” was always meant to be a starting gate, not the finish line and I have found the last eighteen months has been centred around the diagnosis when in all reality there is far more to explore.
We are rebranding to Formula For Life because your agency doesn’t return just by understanding a disease. It returns when you realize that health is an active, daily vocation. The “Formula” isn’t a secret medical recipe; it is the unique way you align your Mind, Body, and Soul against the external Forces of your life.
This is the paradigm shift:
Old View: You are a patient trying to solve a medical problem.
New View: You are a Titan using intelligent navigation to lead a purposeful life.
“Decode Your Diagnosis” is the framework, but Formula For Life is the home of the intelligence you need to navigate the road ahead. We aren’t just looking backward at what went wrong; we are looking at the “Knife Edge of Now” to determine where you go next.
Our goal remains the same: restoring agency and purpose to every life touched by chronic illness. By shifting the focus to your “Formula,” we put the steering wheel back in your hands. Your health is yours, it belongs to you, and the formula for how you live it is yours to write. We are here with you helping it along.
Fama’s Sidebar
A map tells you where the mountains are, but a formula tells you how much fuel you need to cross them. Rebranding isn’t about changing our destination; it’s about acknowledging that you are the pilot, not the passenger.
Key Insight
You are not defined by the name of your condition, but by the formula you create to thrive alongside it.
Reflection Prompt: If your life was a “Formula” rather than a “Diagnosis,” what is the most important element you would add to it today?
