Decode Your Patterns, Align with Compassion, Thrive in Awareness
CipherLine - Open Edition - 28 Sept. 2025
Welcome back.
I know, it’s been weeks since I sent out a newsletter, but it’s been for a few good reasons.
Firstly I’ve been developing the marketing program for the global Kindle release of the book on October 20. More on that in the coming weeks.
The second and most important is I’ve been getting started on book two and in the process refining the message to compliment book one.
So without further ado, I am relaunching the CipherLine Open Edition as the free weekly newsletter to give you three simple steps and suggestions to work the Chapterkey release into your chronic illness journey right now.
Each week I will decode the insight, align with a tool, and help you thrive through real stories.
I hope you enjoy this new practical integration with Chapter 12. I’d love to know what you think of the new format so please feel free to leave a comment.
DECODE: Your Patterns Aren’t Problems, They’re Messages
This chapter decodes the subtle signals your body, emotions, and behaviors are sending, and how awareness turns those signals into insight.
Too often, chronic illness flares are treated like random misfortunes or biological bad luck. But what if they’re patterned feedback loops, showing up to guide you, not punish you?
When I ignored my wife’s early observations about my fatigue, I wasn’t being careless. I just didn’t have the tools to interpret the messages. Only through reflection did I realize those patterns held wisdom.
This chapter helps you shift from reaction to recognition. From “What’s wrong with me?” to “What is this moment trying to show me?”
Awareness opens the door, but compassion gives you the courage to walk through it.
ALIGN: A Compassion Check-In for the Week
Try this Alignment Scan:
→ Pause for two minutes and gently ask yourself:
Ask yourself: What belief about my diagnosis am I rehearsing today, and is it helping or hurting me?
Now name it.
If it’s harsh (like “I’m not doing enough”), try this reframe:
“I’m learning. I’m healing. And I’m allowed to take small steps.”
Use your Alignment Workbook to complete this weekly check-in:
What thoughts have become background noise?
Which one small action today would show kindness to your Mind, Body, or Soul?
Bonus tool: Write a self-compassion letter to yourself as if you were your own best friend. Keep it in your wallet or home office desk. Pull it out and use it on hard days.
THRIVE: Real Titans, Real Shifts
Resilience in the Wild
One Titan in our community wrote:
“Once I stopped judging every setback as a failure, I started noticing my strength. The pain was still there, but so was my capacity to stay soft with it.”
Here’s what shifted for me:
During cardiac recovery, I felt ashamed of not catching the signs sooner. But self-punishment didn’t fuel recovery, it stalled it. What moved the needle was learning to speak to myself gently, like I would to someone I love.
In those really difficult times when I was months from death I remember telling myself, you don’t have to conquer your diagnosis in one act. But you do have to stop fighting yourself against life so you don’t end up six feet under.
Fama’s Nudge
“Sometimes your body’s just saying, ‘Please listen.’ It’s not yelling. It’s whispering.”
