Before You Plan 2026, Take One Honest Look at 2025
Cipherline - Open Edition - Week 1, 2026
Introduction
A Three-Week Reflection Arc
As this year closes, I want to try something different.
Not a recap, not a goal-setting sprint based on news year’s resolutions that wither and die the moment February 1 comes around.
I’d like you to join me on a three-week reflective pause to decode, then align, then choose how we want to thrive.
This first CipherLine in the series is about seeing clearly; what this year actually was, not what we hoped it would be. To give it some perspective, I have written three themes into each newsletter. One For Decode Your Diagnosis, the brand. The second for me to share my dynamic harmony with you as a yard stick. And for you to set your objectives for the year ahead as 2026 may be globally a little scattered as we enter the Chinese Zodiac “year of the fire horse” bringing themes of change, renewal, freedom and personal drive.
Before we decide where we’re going in 2026, we need to understand what 2025 asked of us.
Decode: What 2025 Really Was
The Brand: Decode Your Diagnosis
Decode Your Diagnosis didn’t emerge fully formed. It was scrappy, imperfect and sometimes clumsy.
And that’s exactly why it worked.
This year we:
Gave language to Alignment Theory™
Built foundational assets like the Substack concepts of ChapterKey™ and ReadersKey™
Published Decode Your Diagnosis; the first book in the Decode, Align & Thrive trilogy
Joined Substack and committed to a sequenced, sustainable publishing rhythm
Started a Podcast titled Sessions From The Edge™.
It wasn’t polished, but it was real and it was enough to begin.
My Year: Survival to Awareness
At the start of 2025, I was still processing the fact that I was alive. After the heart crash in September 2024, survival wasn’t theoretical, it was daily, physical and sometimes emotional.
This year asked me to redefine sustainability, not as balance, but as dynamic harmony™ across mind, body, and soul.
Writing the book fulfilled a lifelong dream while editing it, and letting others see it, taught me true humility. And somewhere along the way, I realised spirituality wasn’t about belief systems, it was about calling, and about doing work that feels meaningful enough to give energy back.
Your Year: What Actually Happened?
Before we move forward, this is the quiet work I invite you into.
From a Yin–Yang lens as described in Chapter 5 of Decode your Diagnosis:
Personally: what drained you, and what restored you?
Professionally: where did pressure increase, and where did it soften?
With your health or diagnosis: what did this year demand of you?
No fixing yet so focus on just noticing for now.
Align: Making Sense of What You See
Decoding isn’t about judgment.
It’s about clarity.
For Decode Your Diagnosis, clarity meant acknowledging that growth requires support. That’s why Saman stepped in to lead social strategy, and Princess Daniel began building automation and integration systems. Not because it was financially convenient, but because it was sustainable.
For me, alignment meant accepting that I can’t do everything. That thriving with chronic illness requires help, structure, and humility.
For you, alignment begins by asking:
What did this year teach me about my limits, and my strengths?
Thrive: The First Step Isn’t Action
Thriving doesn’t start with ambition, it starts with honesty.
This week isn’t about planning 2026 yet, it’s about closing 2025 with clear eyes.
Next week, we’ll talk about alignment and how to work with your life, not against it.
But for now, decoding is enough.
Fama’s Nudge
Key Insight:
Clarity is not passive, it’s preparatory.
Three Reflections to Sit With:
What part of 2025 am I still misunderstanding?
Where did effort increase without corresponding return?
What truth about myself became impossible to ignore this year?
